Air flow problems with the air conditioner or heat pump

Picture
HVAC equipment can be dangerous to work on.
The voltages used are lethal, the fuels highly flammable, the pressures are high and refrigerants can cause serious burns.  Know the limits of your abilities and do not proceed if you are unsure.
The air flow across an evaporator determines the efficiency, dehumidification and capacity of an air conditioner, refrigeration system or heat pump.
The most common sources of failures of airflow are related to dirt and blockages of fans, filters and of the evaporator itself.
Below we see a video showing a blocked evaporator.
